I am moving and will no longer need my John Deer 1050 4 wheel drive tractor, loader and Woods 6 foot snow blower. What would be a good asking price. Tractor has 1800 hours.
Thanks, Henry Elsea

I'm in Maine too Dave! I would guess the going price would be between $9K & $12K A lot depends on where you are and the overall appearance of the machine and options. Prices are much higher in the Northeast than in the South. A machine that's been left outside VS. one that was garaged. A machine with a Hydro VS. collar shift. Type and condition of tires. I would guess, based on sales of those who have a choice, R4 most desirable, then R3 and least R1. Too general a question to be specific. I hope that gives you an idea.

well mr. pacesetter you must be familiar with the uncle henry bible of maine..lol.. i looked for a tractor for over a year and several 1050's . i found that if you didn't make up your mind when you went to look at one it was gone the next day.My brother in law works for a local johndeere dealer he claims a tractor is worth what your willing to pay for it, mine has turf tires which i didn't like at first but with chains it's pretty hard to stick it. i can run it across my lawn without everyone screaming and those turfs sure put alot of tire on the ice.it's the power steering that bothers me the most...other than that my inlaw claims he's never seen one in the shop for repairs ....

Dave,
Uncle Henry's is certainly MY bible!! It absolutely amazes me how fast tractors sell in Uncle Henry's and how long some dealers keep them on their lot! Sounds like your brother-in-law works for Hammond, though most all JD dealers hold out for a really long dollar. Fact is though, anything's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it:) Good thing with your 1050 is if you decide to sell, you'll get a very high percentage in return. I'd certainly prefer one like yours over those new electric switch gizmo things they have now!I just need more tractor than I can afford in JD or the other premium brands (NH, Kubota). Your's doesn't have PS?? I tried a small Kubota a while back, B7300 I think, without PS and it was too much for me! I have some medical problems that are prompting me to purchase a tractor in the first place and the lack of PS is a real problem for me. I have highway treads with chains on my yard plow truck and I have no problems. You've got the best setup if you have to travel over grass!
